Club de golf Le Fontainebleau wasted no time taking centre stage in the world of golf as, one year after opening, it played host to the 2004 Telus Skins Game. Phil Mickelson bested John Daly, Vijay Singh and Hank Kuehne over the 18 holes designed by Darrell Huxham just outside Montreal. What those stars and everyone else who plays Le Fontainebleau discovered was a modern classic with large greens, wide fairways, bold bunkering and mature woodlands.
